Can you tell I am shining with excitement! Anticipation! Nervousness, and pure joy!! LOL

I am sitting here in awe and wonder today as I look at my to do list before Buffy and I leave for Boston tomorrow, Wednesday April 1, 2009. Three years ago I put out an intention with the universe that I would do Heal Yourself Talk Radio in an authentic radio studio little did I know it would be in Boston Massachusetts!

I have a vision board in my office filled with sayings, quotes and other inspirations that I look at each day and the quote that hit me today was “Make it Happen!” all you have to do is believe in yourself, your abilities, and trust in God and the universe to provide you in the right time frame with what you want from life! It’s not always an easy road, road blocks may come in your life and make you stumble or feel you will never have what you so desire out of life. Don’t let that feeling last, feel it, let it go, and move on!  Many thanks to friends, family and supporters who have listened to me over the months when I was having those down days…or needed a shoulder for support! Without you there were times I was ready to give up…because of you all my dreams are coming true!

On Friday April 3, 2009 Buffy and I will be in studio in Boston, MA at WBNW 1120 AM interviewing CBS DJ Al Cole also known as “Mr. Romance”. We will be talking about Relationships after 40.

Special needs children offer special visions of the world that sometimes we do not see.  This week Debra talks about her adopted son Christopher and how he has become such a blessing in her life.

During our interview you cannot help but feel the love that Debra feels for her son.  You hear the heartache as her and her  husband tried to adopt a child, and then the God send of Christopher to their family.

Debra shares the heartache of being a mom fighting the school system for her son’s special needs, how they overcame it and how she wanted to share with others the wonderful attributes of adopting a special needs child.

Experience the laughter, the joy and the wide range of emotion as Debra and Christopher meet the challenges of day to day life that most of us take for granted.

More about Debra

I firmly believe that I have received the same child I was meant to receive, whether I gave birth or adopted.  The same soul, the same entity, was meant to be mine, from the beginning of time. Debra Shiveley Welch “A Very Special Child

Best Seller Author, Debra Shiveley Welch was born in Columbus, Ohio and has lived in the Greater Columbus area all of her life. She now resides in Westerville with her husband, Mark, and her adopted son, Christopher, also a published author.

A third generation poet, Debra has been writing since age nine. In her early twenties she had her own column in the Baltimore Eagle Gazette.  Later, she worked as editor for several newsletters, including as development editor for The Parent Connection for The League Against Child Abuse.

“The defining moment in my life is the day that I became a mother, and our attorney placed my son in my arms.  I drew him to me, breathed him in, memorizing his unique scent, imprinting his essence into my very being.  It brought me full circle.  I knew that this was a very special calling in my life, to be with this soul, and to share my life with this child.  To this day, I revel in his unique perfume.”

Debra is the author of three books:  A Very Special Child, a Best Sellers in English at Amazon Japan children’s book, Christopher Bullfrog Catcher, written by her son at eleven years of age, and scribed by Debra, who also wrote its introduction, and Jesus Gandhi Oma Mae Adams, Debra’s first novel, co-authored with Linda Lee Greene, which recently made AuthorsDen Best Sellers at Amazon.  All are available through Saga Books www.sagabooks.net and www.amazon.com.

Christopher has also written a book called Christopher Bullfrog Catcher. The reader is taught how to follow a simple formula in order to create their own special story.  Add to that a guide on how to catch bullfrogs, and a message regarding the care and respect of these fascinating creatures, and you have a book that your child will want to pass on to their own children.
