54 Year Old Spiritual Teacher Loses 155 Pounds By Applying His Own Teachings To Himself

Jordon Lapides is a 54 year Spiritual teacher of Universal Spirituality for over 10 years and when challenged by one of his students to apply his own Spiritual Teachings to his weight problem Jordan took up the challenge and lost over 150 pounds in 10 months. I know that you deal with both Spirituality and weight loss, and this is why this is such a great story and help for your readers and listeners.
He is a resident of the Erie, PA. area and is being featured in a full spread in the Erie Times. Good Morning Erie and Dateline NBC have expressed a keen interest in doing his story as well. The main interest lies in Jordan’s uncanny ability to combine his Spiritual principals directly to weight loss. These principals can be utilized by anybody who simply puts them into practice. The concept of using Spirituality along with weight loss is new, different and is an untapped arena just waiting to be discovered as Jordan has done. This is why he’s generating so much publicity and interest from the media.
During today’s interview Jordon helped me learn there is more to losing weight than just the physical. Yes we all want to be in shape, but there are many aspects of “losing weight” in our lives. They can be physical, spiritual, and mental all of which we need to have a handle on before we can make progress in our lives. Jordon made me feel very comfortable and had some very wise words to say to me while during our interview a storm came up, I wanted to get off the phone right away as I am frightened by storms, listen to what Jordon has to say to me.
Jordon has stated “Through this journey of weight loss I offer viable proof that the proper application of Spiritual Truth can indeed free any person from the prison of their own false nature and distorted self identity.”
I look forward to having Jordon back on HYTR in April

Jordan was born into a Jewish household and was raised as such even unto his Bar Mitzvah. He was converted to fundamental Christianity in his mid teens. After attending Bible College he became an evangelist and Christian teacher. But after years of observation and study Jordan “knew” that something just wasn’t right inside himself as well as in most Christians. As he observed his own unhappiness as well as the unhappiness of those all around him who insisted that they were already “perfectly happy” he felt that he was empty and hypocritical and started to long for deeper insights and higher Spiritual Truths which he eventually found, although Jordan would state that the Heavenly Teacher actually found him. As Jordan himself so often states the old adage “When the student is ready the Teacher will appear.”
While he maintained his Christian identity he ended up rejecting a great majority of traditional church doctrines and dogmas. After years of independent study he was now ready to start teaching the Universal Truths which he had discovered and applied to his own life to others. His original objective was to bring his newly found insights to other Christians who might also be seeking higher truths. He started teaching again in 1997 in Minneapolis. He had a television show which aired daily at 10:00 am Monday through Friday. His show “Break Through” won 3 consecutive awards in 1998, 1999 and 2000 as “Outstanding Program”. Unfortunately, Jordan’s raw Truth, uncompromised stand and unorthodox teachings were met with deep anger and resentment by the Christian community as well as a vast majority of other church leaders within the Minneapolis/ St. Paul area. It seemed to him that most Christians were simply “not ready” for “a deeper knowledge of Truth.” As Jordan has taught “you can not give something to a person who believes that they already possess it.”
He has spent many years studying and learning for himself as well as teaching to those who are open to Spiritual things. He has studied the great teachers such as Gandhi, Vernon Howard, Watchman Nee, Ken Keyes, Buddha, Lao Tzu, Eckhart Tolle, and of course he loves the teachings of Jesus as well as many others.
It has been said by some who have met him, “We’ve never met a Christian that accepted us the way we are with no judgment.” He encompasses all that he has learned from all religions, faiths, philosophies, mystics and Spiritual teachers and gives it out at no cost to anyone who is seeking higher Spirituality. He does not believe that truth should have to be paid for (“Truth should not be for sale”) but that “it is the responsibility of those that possess Truth to present it only to those who are truly seeking it”. Gandhi once stated “You would be amazed at how much money it takes to keep me living in poverty” And even Jesus had a Treasurer.

Law of Attraction getting what you ask for
October 31, 2008 by Rebbekah
Filed under Dealing with Emotions, Follow Your Dreams, Law of Attraction, Scrapbooking Your Intentions, Self Care, Shows
This past week I realized just how powerful the Law of Attraction really is. Last weekend I decided I no longer wanted to be surrounded by negativity and people who are negative as it was starting to effect my life in ways that I could no longer handle.
Negativity no matter where it comes from does affect how we live our daily lives, from the negative news to the negative campaign ads, to people we work with and live with. Once I decided I no longer wanted to be around negative influences, things started to happen that honestly I didn’t even realize what was happening till a couple days later. People started to fall away in my business life and changes started to happen in my personal life. While one instance this week I can honestly say I did not handle it well, for that I can just say “Lesson learned….need to learn to think before I speak” and while this was a life lesson for me in how fast the law of attraction can happen when you decide to take action…it was out of left field and took me completely by surprise and to be honest something I didn’t want to happen and wish I could change but that is not up to me to change.
The major lesson I learned this week is that everything happens for a reason whether we want to believe that or not, and that what you want if you are not careful will happen AND it can come completely out of the blue!
I have been studying the law of attraction for a couple years, and during this time I have learned also that when you think negative those things will happen to you as well. When you wake up and start complaining about people in your life, about how they act and how you think the day is already starting guess what? They will happen! For instance this week I was complaining about someone and wished I could have just a couple days reprieve from this person’s negative influences, now I was complaining in my own mind but still I was complaining and my subsconscious heard this and things changed! Not in a good way either, the more I thought about what was happening and how all this negative influence was making my life miserable the more upset I got, the more I was sending out negative vibrations.
So why do I tell you this story to show that when you are not in control of your thoughts, your emotions the law of attraction, the universe however you want to state it will answer your thoughts and not always with your best intentions involved.
So be careful what you think about, what you wish for and BE SURE you know what you are asking for. Be focused on the positive and what you want in your life!
This leads me to our guest at the bottom of the hour Liz Pagayonan who is a scrapbooker. She found out that while she was using scrapbooking to create memories of her children how focused she become on the happy times in her life and how it changed her whole outlook on things. So she took what she herself learned and is now teaching others how to use scrapbooking to create your purpose, to be more focused.
I know in the show I talk a little about how I created a vision board, now I have created a vision board before but didn’t really get into it till the last one I created. I went to our local craft store and bought a bunch of scrapbook stickers, embellishements, papers etc to create my vision board. I really got into it! My first intention was to get onto WBNW 1120 am Boston Radio and the Dream Visions 7 Radio network, I focused so hard on that intention while creating my vision board that it came true 3 days later! NOW I had to put action behind this vision BUT by creating the vision board using fun things, photos, scrapbooking materials and creating it for ME when I started putting action behind my plans to be on WBNW 1120 am radio they came true faster than if I had just “wished it”.
Liz has created a DVD that will show you how to focus on your goals, intentions and your purpose in life by using scrapbooking. Listen in to the show as I share more about my thoughts on this past week and listen as Liz describes more about using scrapbooking to accomplish your goals!
On Liz’s site I found this:
Scrapbooking positively formed thoughts with focused intention, instantly rewrites and deeply imbeds the new way of thinking as the dominate thought. This means that you can instantly begin to experience the benefit or essence of your new way of thinking. Scrapbooking makes it EASY and FUN to completely transform any area of your life!
All I can say is give it a try! It worked for me…it really helped me to focus on what I want in my life.

Body of Knowledge a Lifetime of Health

Dr. Robert Moore is on Heal Yourself Talk Radio today talking about his Body of Knowledge program or BOK Systems. Are you tired of those fads diets to lose weight? Fad diets or pills to help you deal with illness, and wondering when you will start feeling better?
BOK systems is a break through in medicical technology and Dr. Robert Moore is here today to help us understand more about our bodies and how his system can help heal our minds, bodies and yes our spirits as well.
MORE ABOUT BOK

Body of Knowledge by Dr. Robert Moore
Body of Knowledge system was created with the sole purpose in mind for people to be able to manage their weight and overall health on their own. The BOK system is not a magic bullet or a fad diet but a sensible, sustainable program for weight management and promoting good health. The BOK system offers a realistic plan to help people make life-altering, life-affirming changes by utilizing nutrition, exercise and support.
Our mission is to provide information that gives you the ability to create and maintain a healthy lifestyle that adapts to change-one that naturally manages your weight, keeps you fit, promotes good health, and gives you a Body of Knowledge.
Most doctors share a common dream-to help cure those who are in need and to do something really special in their career. While I enjoy every facet of my medical and surgical practice, overall my professional sense of accomplishment has come from successfully helping people transform their lives through the Body of Knowledge system.
Body of Knowledge, or BOK (pronounced “Be Okay”), is the result of twenty years of study, research, and working with people who have come to me overweight, out of shape, and often despondent. I believe that my vision and expertise mirrors an emerging public demand for healthy lifestyle programs. I have found that most people prefer a blend of truth and essential information in an organized, facts-driven format over the gimmick-driven and “quick fix” weight loss plans of the past. This new enthusiasm could not have come at a better time. Serious health problems associated with weight gain in both adults and children are increasing across the nation. Even though there are more diet and fitness plans on the market than any time in history, there are more people considered obese and overweight than ever before (over half of our population).

Diane Tegarden wasn’t a full time writer until she was stricken down with lupus and had to close her company and stop working full time. What could have been a crippling end to a productive life was at first a blow Diane didn’t think she’d overcome. Then, after struggling several years with lupus, she found that an organic diet and lifestyle helped to partially restore her energy level and health, so that she could start to think about working again.
That’s when Diane decided to do what she’d always wanted to do. At first, she felt she couldn’t justify letting someone else support her while she launched her new career at the ripe young age of 48!! Then Diane just allowed it to happen, and it’s wonderful beyond words.
Join us for a touching hour of Talk Radio!
Rebbekah will share her daily struggles with Lupus as well, while she doesn’t talk very often about her struggle with Lupus on today’s show she will discuss the many aspects of dealing with an auto immune disease.
“Lupus is a hard disease to diagnose, through so many tests coming back with either a yes or no so many times the doctors finally said this is what you have, although we are not sure. The only thing I have come to rely on is how I feel day to day. There are many days I need to lay down for a couple naps to get my energy back. I have begun to take better care of myself, by starting to eat more organic foods, listening to my body when I need rest and basically scheduling my day around how I feel.
Many of my clients are not aware that I am “ill” and to me that is a good thing. I am a strong woman and while I have many daily ups and downs what keeps me going is my family, my friends and my clients. So while I do discuss having LUPUS on HYTR, please do not change your opinion of me or how I am able to handle clients etc ….I have learned that if there is a will there is a way. Hence why some days you will see me online late at night those were the days I needed to lay down in the afternoons. Being able to run a business from home has been a blessing. I am better able to schedule my hours around my body, rest and still give 100% to my clients and my radio show.” -Rebbekah White
What is Lupus?
Lupus is an autoimmune disease, which means that the body’s natural defense system (immune system) attacks its own tissues instead of attacking foreign substances like bacteria and viruses. This causes inflammation. Inflammation causes swelling, pain, and tissue damage throughout the body. If you develop severe lupus, you may have problems with your kidneys, heart, lungs, nervous system, or blood cells. Lupus is the common name for systemic lupus erythematosus, also called SLE.
Although some people with lupus have only mild symptoms, the disease is lifelong and can become severe. But most people can control their symptoms and prevent severe damage to their organs. They do this by seeing their doctors often for checkups, getting enough rest and exercise, and taking medicines.
This topic focuses on systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), the most common and most serious type of lupus. But there are four other types of lupus: discoid or cutaneous lupus, drug-induced systemic lupus, neonatal lupus, and subacute cutaneous lupus.
What causes lupus?
The exact cause of lupus is not known. Experts believe that some people are born with certain genes that affect how the immune system works and that they are more likely to get lupus. Then a number of other factors can trigger lupus attacks. These include viral infections, including the virus that causes mononucleosis, and sunlight.
Although these things can trigger lupus, they may affect one person but not another person.
What are the symptoms?
Lupus symptoms vary widely, and they come and go. The times when symptoms get worse are called relapses, or flares. The times when symptoms are not so bad are called remissions.
Common symptoms include feeling very tired and having joint pain or swelling (arthritis), a fever, and a skin rash
. The rash often happens after you have been in the sun. Mouth sores and hair loss may occur. Over time, some people with lupus have problems with the heart, lungs, kidneys, blood cells, or nervous system.
How is lupus diagnosed?
There is no single test for lupus. Because lupus affects different people in different ways, it can be hard to diagnose.
Your doctor will check for lupus by asking you questions, looking for common symptoms, and doing some blood tests. It is easier for your doctor to diagnose lupus if you have the most common symptoms and your blood has certain proteins. These proteins are called antinuclear antibodies, or ANAs. But other problems can cause your body to make ANAs, so doctors will use blood tests and other tests to find out if you have lupus.
How is it treated?
Lupus is treated by:
- Applying corticosteroid cream for rashes.
- Taking nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for mild joint or muscle pain and fever.
- Taking antimalarial medicines to treat fatigue, joint pain, skin rashes, and lung inflammation.
- Taking low-dose corticosteroids if other medicines are not controlling your symptoms.
Because corticosteroids are powerful medicines and can cause serious side effects, the doctor will recommend the lowest dose that will give the most benefit.
The doctor may also recommend other medicines that slow down the immune system.
How can you manage lupus?
One of the goals of controlling mild to moderate lupus symptoms is to prevent flares, the times when your symptoms are worse. Some of the other things you can do include:
- Rest to reduce stress.
- Avoid the sun. Wear sunscreen and protective clothing when you are outside.
- Exercise regularly to prevent fatigue and joint stiffness.
- Stop smoking.
- Learn the warning signs of a symptoms flare, such as fatigue, pain, and rash, and take steps to control them.
With good self-care, most people with lupus can keep doing their regular daily activities.
It is important to learn about lupus so that you can understand how it might affect your life and how you can best cope with it. Also, help your family and friends understand your limitations and needs when your symptoms flare. Develop a support system of family, friends, and health professionals. ARE YOU PREPARED?

ARE YOU PREPARED?
by
Lael Johnson
Are you prepared emotionally, mentally and physically to do your each working day? Or do you arrive ill-prepared, in one way or another, at the beginning of your work day?
Barring policies that you cannot control, and could influence the outcome and your productivity, have you ever found yourself involved in any of the following situations?
For example:
1. Do you work on a project when you aren’t feeling well?
2. Do you work on a project when you are distracted?.
3. Do you work on a project in cluttered workplace?
4. Do you work on a project in a less than supportive work environment?
5. Do you work on a project in an unsafe work environment?
6. Do you work on a project with an incomplete work team?
7. Do you work on a project with incomplete instructions?
8. Do you promote your business without any business cards?
9. Do you promote your business without marketing or business plan(s)?
If you find yourself in a situation similar to these, then you need to stop and engage in some deliberate and clear journaling about your situation. You need to give yourself some written work preparation time.
How can you use journaling increase to increase your work preparation and productivity? You can use journaling to problem-solve, communicate and to reflect.
Problem-solving: You can write an entry about the work situation, including the pros and cons and any other pertinent information that will help you clarify and change your actions, thoughts and feelings.

Eddie Baran has been involved in fitness for almost thirty years. Growing up in San Diego, California, he was your classic skinny weakling but always had an interest in strength and exercise. As a young boy, tired of getting sand kicked in his face, Baran sent away for the Charles Atlas muscle building course and thus began his strength training. He then dabbled in lifting weights for a brief period then stopped. In his late teens, Baran rediscovered fitness as an endurance athlete, becoming a road cyclist typically logging in three to four hour rides each day.
He later resumed weight training, doing bodybuilding routines. Being this was the mid 1980′s, the age of big hair and big muscles, Baran hopped onto the bodybuilding bandwagon with reckless abandon and dived into weight training hoping to put some meat on his bones.Combat Conditioning and to this day continues study under the instruction of Furey. Making tremendous gains in strength and conditioning, so excited about how effectively bodyweight exercises built functional strength and conditioning that he decided to start training in gymnastics at the age of 35.The Secret Power of Handstand Training and The Primate Power Super Strength System, as well as contributed his expertise in Furey’s Gama Fitness course. He is on the advisory board on the Matt Furey Inner Circle membership website.Body Sculpting Bodyweight Exercises for Women specifically designed to give women an athletic and aesthetic body.
For the next decade, Baran continued on his bodybuilding quest, bulking up from a lean 155 pounds to a puffy, pumped-up, supplement-bloated 215 pounds. Although big, Baran was hardly strong and definitely not a conditioned athlete.
Realizing he was all fluff and no substance, and that bodybuilding was not about functional strength, Baran began training in Power Lifting, which eventually led him to the Olympic-style weightlifting. He admired the explosive real world strength, the timing and coordination, and the athleticism of this type of training.
In 1999 Baran met Matt Furey who further coached him in the Olympic Lifts. Furey’s nononsense approach to teaching was just what Baran needed to dramatically improve his lifting. Baran went on to compete in Olympic style weightlifting, but he hungered for more conditioned based strength routines.
Impressed with Matt Furey’s real world expertise of functional strength, Baran was the first ones to begin training with Furey’s
Along with Matt Furey, Baran co-authored
Baran continues to this day to study gymnastics and has coached the sport, specializing strength and conditioning. He now coaches only a select few clients. Having become disappointed with the state of women’s fitness, Eddie Baran is now focusing his efforts on improving strength and conditioning of women. In 2006, Baran developed a training program,
Baran is a refugee from California who fled north across the border to Portland, Oregon in order to escape economic and social oppression of his native homeland.

Eat all you want – Caveman cuisine puts weight loss on auto pilot.
When you want to eat right, lose weight, get healthy and NEVER diet again by simply following the lost secrets of the caveman’s cuisine – then I urge you to read every single word on this website.
Let’s face it, there is so much confusing and conflicting information and flat-out lies floating around about what’s “good” to eat, and what’s the best “diet.”
No wonder we’re getting fatter, weaker and sicker.
The Media trots out more new diet fads quicker than it takes McDonalds to announce a new upsize meal deal.
Who should you listen to: Your Mom, your neighbor, the Media, your instincts or the latest fad/diet guru?
The answer is a tough one.
Wouldn’t it be better of you never had to diet ever again?
You may be wondering if never dieting is even possible and the answer is yes and no.

More about the Rising Star Healing System
Founded by Derek O’Neill
The Rising Star is probably the most complimentary healing system on the planet at this time. It raises the vibration of the aura (human energy field) and the field around every living thing. The Rising Star allows the practitioner and the receiver to still the mind and transfer divine life energy to the part of your being that needs it most, for your healing and rebalancing to full health. Because of this and because it works on so many different levels at once, a person receiving it, we will say for a bad back, may find that another illness also gets helped. This is because it works on all levels: THE MIND, THE PHYSICAL, and THE SPIRITUAL. It is as if the healing energy knows precisely where it is needed most (sometimes not to the place that you think is best). It goes where it will do the most good for your overall well-being.

I Create My Body with Marilyn Jenett

I was a participant in Marilyn’s program last year called “I Create My Body.” Here is what I wrote for a testimonal for her class:
When I first approached Marilyn about her I Create My Body Program I was overweight and depressed. It was coming into summer and I so dreaded getting into that swimsuit for our annual 4th of July family get together. I had no motivation, didn’t even want to pop in another exercise video and try to lose the 15 pounds I wanted to lose in order to feel good for that gathering.
I signed up for Marilyn’s class and within a few days had talked my hubby into getting me a bike so that I could get off my chair and get moving. Marilyn suggested I do something I really love…I love to bike ride but had been putting off getting a new one for ages…well, with Marilyn’s suggestion I went out and got one.
Not only was I seeing a change in my body as the weeks went by but also a change in my hubby’s attention, the self confidence I was gaining back, and the way I felt after bike riding.
During that first month and a half I lost 10 pounds just by changing the way I thought about losing weight thanks to Marilyn’s program and support.
If you have struggled with the “not another diet program” blues, then this program is for YOU! It is not another one of those dreaded diets that make you feel like you are depriving yourself. This is a total body makeover from the inside out!
Thank you Marilyn.

The I Create My Body Program is a unique lesson and mentoring experience that is based on a mental technique for losing weight that prosperity mentor Marilyn Jenett discovered many years ago from a great New Thought teacher. She used the technique over the decades to maintain her own perfect weight.
The wonderful testimonials from students of the program prove its effectiveness and now YOU will understand how you can lose weight in a natural, effortless way – by gently shifting the subconscious dominant thought. The name I Create My Body is appropriate because the program eliminates the concepts of “dieting, weight, losing weight, etc.” and instead refocuses all attention, consciously and subconsciously, on the desired result – a fit, healthy body.
By applying techniques to instill new seed thoughts in the subconscious, you create a new set of core beliefs, and those beliefs in turn create healing and a new physical condition. Any changes in your habits or routine are inspired from the inside out…naturally…not from any will power or forced action.
Marilyn is the founder and creator of the renowned Feel Free to Prosper program and adapted her teachings to include this “body prosperity.” Click here for details about the upcoming I Create My Body live teleclass:

Mastering the Art of Living: “Improving Vs Changing”
April 5, 2008 by Nani
Filed under Education, Forgiveness, Health, Ho'oponopono, Personal Growth, Positive Thinking, Reducing Stress, Self Esteem, Self Help, Spirituality
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: (This applies to work, relationships and family)
Let’s examine the possibility of a simple attitude adjustment in how we look at improvement in living as the way to move forward rather than change. Why? Change implies bringing all the baggage of the past along. That means allowing for the “we cannot know what we do not know” we explored before in Ho’oponopono. This often includes letting go of “stuff”, such as the voices of your youth; of the you cannot do that; should not do that; are you kidding me”, and negative thoughts of others, that fill our psyche with negative energy. We end up fighting not just the desire to change but the voices that have haunted for years as to why we can’t. So change becomes an exhausting endeavor? And when humans are exhausted they are prone to give up and believe they have failed.
Thinking deeper; when you decide to select improvement in living you bring forward yourself and the “definite intent” of your being front and center. You leave the other “stuff” behind because all of us strive to improve and are happy when we do.
Defending this prognosis: Change has two responses either reactive or response.
First, reactive meaning looking for what’s wrong. Second ,response meaning looking for what’s right. See the difference! Subtle change, major shift towards moving forward with hope which now flows as a quiet stream as we move through our day.
Word to the wise: Make time for cherishing each other.
Hint: Knowledge is a result. Going backward is a result. Incomplete is a result. Begin every task with the “intent to finish”. Why? So you do not get caught in the circle of repeat.
These principles called mastering the art of living are aligned with the laws of attraction and the art of forgiveness called Ho’oponopono. “Attitude is everything, there is nothing else!” Nani

The Beauty in Reiki Healing
In a stressed out world like what we have today, more and more people are opting for other treatments other than using medications to help them achieve a more stable levels of thinking and emotions. This is because they have noticed that the more they depend on medication and treatments related to it, the more they feel weak, stressed out, and sick.
So, instead to suffering from the side effects of various medications, many people opt for a more traditional treatment such as Reiki healing.
Founded on the significant benefits of the human touch, Reiki healing is preferred by more and more people—especially those who are suffering from terminal cases and illnesses—because it provides a more “human” approach to healing. Since it is more soothing and comforting that the number of apparatus that are used in various hospitals and medical centers, Reiki healing has become an option to people who are tired of relying on medical treatments.
What sets this alternative therapy from the modern form of healing today is the more “human” feel into it. Many people prefer this because it lessens the depression their feel brought the illness or emotional pains knowing that a person/people understand what are they going through.
How Reiki healing works
Reiki healing works through the use of the never-ending cycle of love energy in people. Reiki healing utilizes the innate life force energy flowing in each individual and converts it into a more productive energy force.
Transferred from one person to another, this life energy force can heal a person’s emotional imbalance, heals the dying spirit, and calms the mind. If it cannot be channeled from one person to another during a Reiki class, an individual can also use it alone especially if there’s a great need to boost a person’s morale or spirit.
Reiki healing can be a perfect key in solving people’s personal predicaments if only they give it a try. Unlike modern medications that can cost so much money along with numerous side effects, Reiki healing would not rob you off so much money especially if you have mastered it for yourself.
The only expenses you’ll be needing to achieve the benefits of Reiki healing is the fee for enrolment in a Reiki class and references such as magazines and books for practicing Reiki.
For Reiki healing to work properly and effectively, a person must first be able to achieve a higher will. When a person has a high will, it can enable somebody to set aside his or her self-centered intentions. Once this is done, a person can experience a blissful encounter with his or herself and can share this wonderful feeling of healing and contentment to other people.
Reiki healing can also be more effective when a person can channel or transfer his or her energy to those people in need. Once a person can do this, his or her will be accredited to a higher level, which can enable him or her to achieve peacefulness, calmness, and optimism in life.
In Reiki healing, the life force energy is channeled or transferred from one person to another through attunement. Usually takes place in Reiki classes and supervised by a Reiki master, this transfer of life force energy is remotely done to ensure its success.
Aside from healing a person’s spirit, Reiki also helps a person to balance his or her prioties in life to achieve a more relaxed and content life.
All supporters who donate $5.00 will have their website links added to our Recommended Links section on HYTR & HY Magazine plus a special thank you will be sent out to our newsletter as our way of thanking you. Thank you again for all your love and support. What is Reiki?
What is Reiki? Reiki is a Japanese type of spiritual practice also used for stress reduction and relaxation. It is a technique that also helps promote healing either for self or for other people. It is characterized as a practice of “laying of hands”.
The healing powers of the technique are based on the idea that there is an unseen “life force energy” that flows through each person. This life force is said to be the reason why people are alive. When one’s life force energy is low, then people are likely to get sick or feel weak. If the life force is high, people fell healthy and happy.
Reiki is also a form of meditation used as a type of therapy for treating physical, emotional, and mental diseases. The name Reiki is taken from two Japanese characters that describe energy itself. The word “rei”, which means “unseen” or “spiritual” and “ki” which means “energy” or “life force” is combined to become Reiki. In English, its meaning is usually given as “universal life energy”.
It was Mikao Usui who was known to have developed Reiki in 20th century Japan. Story has it that Usui received the ability of healing after going through three weeks of fasting and meditating on top of Mount Kurama. Practitioners of Reiki use a technique similar to that of the laying on of hands.
This action is said to promote the channeling of “healing energy” to another person. The energy flows through the palms and brings along with it healing powers that can be used for self-treatment as well as for treating others.
Reiki is a simple, natural as well as safe method of dispensing spiritual healing and self-improvement. It is said to be effective in providing alternative treatment for virtually every known illness and malady. Not only that, Reiki also helps create an added beneficial effect, that of spiritual healing. This method is also said to work well when combined with other medical or therapeutic techniques to help relieve side effects and promote recovery.
Reiki, although seen as a very powerful healing technique, is an amazingly simple to learn. Reiki and the ability to use it effectively cannot be taught in the usual sense. The skill is said to be “transferred” to the student during a Reiki class.
This ability is not merely learned but is passed on by a Reiki master to the student during a gathering known as “attunement”. After the skill has been passed on, it allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of “life force energy” that can then be used to improve one’s health and enhance the one’s quality of life.
Although the practice of Reiki may be spiritual in nature, it is not considered as a religion. There are no set of beliefs that one should learn about before learning to practice the technique known as Reiki. The practice does not depend on any form of dogma.
It will work whether the student believes it or not. But it is said that the practice of Reiki helps people to keep in touch of their spiritual selves rather than the intellectual concept that it provides.
The practice of Reiki also aims to develop and promote living in harmony with others. Aside from practicing Reiki and its principles, the founder of the Reiki system, Mikao Usui also recommends the practice of simple ethical ideals that can lead to peace and harmony among people.
Getting to know what Reiki is may help people not only become a healing channel but also a tool to promote peace among other people.

With all the stresses brought by the modern world, it is only common to people to look for alternatives in relieving their stress. Aside from resulting to medications and other treatments that give the promise of comfort and relaxations, people are now resulting to ancient means of relieving stress such as Reiki.
The Japanese word “Reiki” refers to a unique technique that is used for reducing stress. Ultimately used to relieve aches brought by too much stress, Reiki is also used to aid relaxation and healing not only of the person’s physical body but his or her soul and spirit as well.
Administered by “laying on hands,” this technique for healing is believed to be effective through the use of an invisible force of life energy that flows in every living and breathing individual.
In the concept of Reiki, it is believed that when the level of a person’s life force energy is incredibly low, he or she will likely to be stressed out more often and have a higher tendency to get sick or ill compared to those people with high level of life energy force.
In Reiki, it is also proven that those people who are living healthy, stress-free and happy lives possess high level of life force energy which enable them to have positive outlook in life. These people also have greater capability to face the challenges of everyday living.
Developed by Mikao Usui, a Japanese Tendai Buddhist in the year 1922, Reiki has been a very popular form of relieving stress to people all over the world. Since its discovery, the technique Reiki has evolved in various forms and has been practiced by numerous Reiki masters across the globe.
Reiki as a means of healing
More and more people are into Reiki in the previous years because the technique has shown great and incredible results. For most people who have tried it, the treatment is a wonderful solution to relieving stress. This is because they don’t have to spend so much money in buying medication that can have grave side effects and they don’t also have to undergo through painful body exercises and unhealthy regimens.
Reiki is considered as a wonderful means of relaxation because it uses the innate warmth and energy in a person. This energy is then converted to a “purer” form of energy—free from the busy schedule and toxicities of modern living. People who have tried Reiki say that the technique does not only treat the person’s physical body but also alleviates the burden in emotions, lessens the clutter of the mind, and nourishes a deteriorated spirit.
When a person is free from all these physical and emotional burdens, he or she will benefit from a relaxed in almost all kinds of environment because the feelings of calmness and serenity are infused within his or her system.
Unlike other techniques for relaxation, Reiki is one of the most simple and all natural means of healing a person’s spirit. In fact, it is so safe that almost all people can make use of it. When used properly and trained religiously, Reiki can be an answer to all the health and emotional problems of people.
But, in order to make use of the Reiki properly, one must attend a class where the ability is transferred. Using “attunement” conducted by a Reiki master, one can easily learn to convert his or her innate energy into a healthy and beneficial use.
Here, the student is guided by the master in tapping the limitless source of energy and use it to improve his or her quality of life.
