54 Year Old Spiritual Teacher Loses 155 Pounds By Applying His Own Teachings To Himself

Jordon Lapides is a 54 year Spiritual teacher of Universal Spirituality for over 10 years and when challenged by one of his students to apply his own Spiritual Teachings to his weight problem Jordan took up the challenge and lost over 150 pounds in 10 months. I know that you deal with both Spirituality and weight loss, and this is why this is such a great story and help for your readers and listeners.
He is a resident of the Erie, PA. area and is being featured in a full spread in the Erie Times. Good Morning Erie and Dateline NBC have expressed a keen interest in doing his story as well. The main interest lies in Jordan’s uncanny ability to combine his Spiritual principals directly to weight loss. These principals can be utilized by anybody who simply puts them into practice. The concept of using Spirituality along with weight loss is new, different and is an untapped arena just waiting to be discovered as Jordan has done. This is why he’s generating so much publicity and interest from the media.
During today’s interview Jordon helped me learn there is more to losing weight than just the physical. Yes we all want to be in shape, but there are many aspects of “losing weight” in our lives. They can be physical, spiritual, and mental all of which we need to have a handle on before we can make progress in our lives. Jordon made me feel very comfortable and had some very wise words to say to me while during our interview a storm came up, I wanted to get off the phone right away as I am frightened by storms, listen to what Jordon has to say to me.
Jordon has stated “Through this journey of weight loss I offer viable proof that the proper application of Spiritual Truth can indeed free any person from the prison of their own false nature and distorted self identity.”
I look forward to having Jordon back on HYTR in April

Jordan was born into a Jewish household and was raised as such even unto his Bar Mitzvah. He was converted to fundamental Christianity in his mid teens. After attending Bible College he became an evangelist and Christian teacher. But after years of observation and study Jordan “knew” that something just wasn’t right inside himself as well as in most Christians. As he observed his own unhappiness as well as the unhappiness of those all around him who insisted that they were already “perfectly happy” he felt that he was empty and hypocritical and started to long for deeper insights and higher Spiritual Truths which he eventually found, although Jordan would state that the Heavenly Teacher actually found him. As Jordan himself so often states the old adage “When the student is ready the Teacher will appear.”
While he maintained his Christian identity he ended up rejecting a great majority of traditional church doctrines and dogmas. After years of independent study he was now ready to start teaching the Universal Truths which he had discovered and applied to his own life to others. His original objective was to bring his newly found insights to other Christians who might also be seeking higher truths. He started teaching again in 1997 in Minneapolis. He had a television show which aired daily at 10:00 am Monday through Friday. His show “Break Through” won 3 consecutive awards in 1998, 1999 and 2000 as “Outstanding Program”. Unfortunately, Jordan’s raw Truth, uncompromised stand and unorthodox teachings were met with deep anger and resentment by the Christian community as well as a vast majority of other church leaders within the Minneapolis/ St. Paul area. It seemed to him that most Christians were simply “not ready” for “a deeper knowledge of Truth.” As Jordan has taught “you can not give something to a person who believes that they already possess it.”
He has spent many years studying and learning for himself as well as teaching to those who are open to Spiritual things. He has studied the great teachers such as Gandhi, Vernon Howard, Watchman Nee, Ken Keyes, Buddha, Lao Tzu, Eckhart Tolle, and of course he loves the teachings of Jesus as well as many others.
It has been said by some who have met him, “We’ve never met a Christian that accepted us the way we are with no judgment.” He encompasses all that he has learned from all religions, faiths, philosophies, mystics and Spiritual teachers and gives it out at no cost to anyone who is seeking higher Spirituality. He does not believe that truth should have to be paid for (“Truth should not be for sale”) but that “it is the responsibility of those that possess Truth to present it only to those who are truly seeking it”. Gandhi once stated “You would be amazed at how much money it takes to keep me living in poverty” And even Jesus had a Treasurer.

Body of Knowledge a Lifetime of Health

Dr. Robert Moore is on Heal Yourself Talk Radio today talking about his Body of Knowledge program or BOK Systems. Are you tired of those fads diets to lose weight? Fad diets or pills to help you deal with illness, and wondering when you will start feeling better?
BOK systems is a break through in medicical technology and Dr. Robert Moore is here today to help us understand more about our bodies and how his system can help heal our minds, bodies and yes our spirits as well.
MORE ABOUT BOK

Body of Knowledge by Dr. Robert Moore
Body of Knowledge system was created with the sole purpose in mind for people to be able to manage their weight and overall health on their own. The BOK system is not a magic bullet or a fad diet but a sensible, sustainable program for weight management and promoting good health. The BOK system offers a realistic plan to help people make life-altering, life-affirming changes by utilizing nutrition, exercise and support.
Our mission is to provide information that gives you the ability to create and maintain a healthy lifestyle that adapts to change-one that naturally manages your weight, keeps you fit, promotes good health, and gives you a Body of Knowledge.
Most doctors share a common dream-to help cure those who are in need and to do something really special in their career. While I enjoy every facet of my medical and surgical practice, overall my professional sense of accomplishment has come from successfully helping people transform their lives through the Body of Knowledge system.
Body of Knowledge, or BOK (pronounced “Be Okay”), is the result of twenty years of study, research, and working with people who have come to me overweight, out of shape, and often despondent. I believe that my vision and expertise mirrors an emerging public demand for healthy lifestyle programs. I have found that most people prefer a blend of truth and essential information in an organized, facts-driven format over the gimmick-driven and “quick fix” weight loss plans of the past. This new enthusiasm could not have come at a better time. Serious health problems associated with weight gain in both adults and children are increasing across the nation. Even though there are more diet and fitness plans on the market than any time in history, there are more people considered obese and overweight than ever before (over half of our population).

Eddie Baran has been involved in fitness for almost thirty years. Growing up in San Diego, California, he was your classic skinny weakling but always had an interest in strength and exercise. As a young boy, tired of getting sand kicked in his face, Baran sent away for the Charles Atlas muscle building course and thus began his strength training. He then dabbled in lifting weights for a brief period then stopped. In his late teens, Baran rediscovered fitness as an endurance athlete, becoming a road cyclist typically logging in three to four hour rides each day.
He later resumed weight training, doing bodybuilding routines. Being this was the mid 1980′s, the age of big hair and big muscles, Baran hopped onto the bodybuilding bandwagon with reckless abandon and dived into weight training hoping to put some meat on his bones.Combat Conditioning and to this day continues study under the instruction of Furey. Making tremendous gains in strength and conditioning, so excited about how effectively bodyweight exercises built functional strength and conditioning that he decided to start training in gymnastics at the age of 35.The Secret Power of Handstand Training and The Primate Power Super Strength System, as well as contributed his expertise in Furey’s Gama Fitness course. He is on the advisory board on the Matt Furey Inner Circle membership website.Body Sculpting Bodyweight Exercises for Women specifically designed to give women an athletic and aesthetic body.
For the next decade, Baran continued on his bodybuilding quest, bulking up from a lean 155 pounds to a puffy, pumped-up, supplement-bloated 215 pounds. Although big, Baran was hardly strong and definitely not a conditioned athlete.
Realizing he was all fluff and no substance, and that bodybuilding was not about functional strength, Baran began training in Power Lifting, which eventually led him to the Olympic-style weightlifting. He admired the explosive real world strength, the timing and coordination, and the athleticism of this type of training.
In 1999 Baran met Matt Furey who further coached him in the Olympic Lifts. Furey’s nononsense approach to teaching was just what Baran needed to dramatically improve his lifting. Baran went on to compete in Olympic style weightlifting, but he hungered for more conditioned based strength routines.
Impressed with Matt Furey’s real world expertise of functional strength, Baran was the first ones to begin training with Furey’s
Along with Matt Furey, Baran co-authored
Baran continues to this day to study gymnastics and has coached the sport, specializing strength and conditioning. He now coaches only a select few clients. Having become disappointed with the state of women’s fitness, Eddie Baran is now focusing his efforts on improving strength and conditioning of women. In 2006, Baran developed a training program,
Baran is a refugee from California who fled north across the border to Portland, Oregon in order to escape economic and social oppression of his native homeland.

The Caveman Cuisine Diet with Dr. Vince

Eat all you want – Caveman cuisine puts weight loss on auto pilot.
When you want to eat right, lose weight, get healthy and NEVER diet again by simply following the lost secrets of the caveman’s cuisine – then I urge you to read every single word on this website.
Let’s face it, there is so much confusing and conflicting information and flat-out lies floating around about what’s “good” to eat, and what’s the best “diet.”
No wonder we’re getting fatter, weaker and sicker.
The Media trots out more new diet fads quicker than it takes McDonalds to announce a new upsize meal deal.
Who should you listen to: Your Mom, your neighbor, the Media, your instincts or the latest fad/diet guru?
The answer is a tough one.
Wouldn’t it be better of you never had to diet ever again?
You may be wondering if never dieting is even possible and the answer is yes and no.
I Create My Body with Marilyn Jenett

I was a participant in Marilyn’s program last year called “I Create My Body.” Here is what I wrote for a testimonal for her class:
When I first approached Marilyn about her I Create My Body Program I was overweight and depressed. It was coming into summer and I so dreaded getting into that swimsuit for our annual 4th of July family get together. I had no motivation, didn’t even want to pop in another exercise video and try to lose the 15 pounds I wanted to lose in order to feel good for that gathering.
I signed up for Marilyn’s class and within a few days had talked my hubby into getting me a bike so that I could get off my chair and get moving. Marilyn suggested I do something I really love…I love to bike ride but had been putting off getting a new one for ages…well, with Marilyn’s suggestion I went out and got one.
Not only was I seeing a change in my body as the weeks went by but also a change in my hubby’s attention, the self confidence I was gaining back, and the way I felt after bike riding.
During that first month and a half I lost 10 pounds just by changing the way I thought about losing weight thanks to Marilyn’s program and support.
If you have struggled with the “not another diet program” blues, then this program is for YOU! It is not another one of those dreaded diets that make you feel like you are depriving yourself. This is a total body makeover from the inside out!
Thank you Marilyn.

The I Create My Body Program is a unique lesson and mentoring experience that is based on a mental technique for losing weight that prosperity mentor Marilyn Jenett discovered many years ago from a great New Thought teacher. She used the technique over the decades to maintain her own perfect weight.
The wonderful testimonials from students of the program prove its effectiveness and now YOU will understand how you can lose weight in a natural, effortless way – by gently shifting the subconscious dominant thought. The name I Create My Body is appropriate because the program eliminates the concepts of “dieting, weight, losing weight, etc.” and instead refocuses all attention, consciously and subconsciously, on the desired result – a fit, healthy body.
By applying techniques to instill new seed thoughts in the subconscious, you create a new set of core beliefs, and those beliefs in turn create healing and a new physical condition. Any changes in your habits or routine are inspired from the inside out…naturally…not from any will power or forced action.
Marilyn is the founder and creator of the renowned Feel Free to Prosper program and adapted her teachings to include this “body prosperity.” Click here for details about the upcoming I Create My Body live teleclass:

Tips on Becoming A Healthier Eater
February 12, 2008 by Rebbekah
Filed under Family Health, Health, Intuitive Eating, Weight Loss
Being a healthy eater requires you to become both educated and smart about what healthy eating actually is. Being food smart isn’t about learning to calculate grams or fat, or about studying labels and counting calories.
Healthy eating is all about balanced and moderate eating, consisting of healthy meals at least three times per day. Healthy eaters eat many different types of foods, not limiting themselves to one specific food type or food group.
Eating healthy requires quite a bit of leeway. You might eat too much or not enough, consume foods that are sometimes more or less nutritious. However, you should always fuel your body and your brain regularly with enough food to keep both your mind and body strong and alert.
A healthy eater is a good problem solver. Healthy eaters have learned to take care of themselves and their eating with sound judgement and making wise decisions. Healthy eaters are always aware of what they eat, and know the effect that it will have on their bodies.
When someone is unable to take control of their eating, they are also likely to get out of control with other aspects of life as well. They could end up spending too much, talking too much, even going to bed later and later.
So do you want to be a dieter all your life? Or do you want to learn how to be a healthy eater?
The choice is yours…
As with anything in life, eating can be an obsession. Whether you are obsessed with food and overeating or you are obsessed with losing weight and seeing food as the enemy.
Think back to years ago, look at the artists and how they viewed a woman. The sexy women were the ones with curves, the ones who had some “fat” on them!
You should always remember that restricting food in any way is always a bad thing. Healthy eating is a way of life, something that you can do to enhance your body or your lifestyle. If you’ve thought about making your life better, healthy eating is just the place to start. You’ll make life easier for yourself, those around you, and even your family.
Tips:
Eat more raw foods
Eat more vegetables
Eat more fruits
Cut back on sugars and adding extras to your drinks
MOVE-get up and exercise even if you just start out with a brisk walk each day
Don’t get discouraged
Write down your feelings when you want to eat. Are you depressed? Are you worried?
Join a group that focuses on healthy eating and a new lifestyle not just a group for weight loss.
As always when you make a change in your lifestyle please contact your doctor to be sure you are in good shape and ask him/her for advice on how you need to proceed for your own body type and goals.

Fight Fat at Its True Source …Your Cells
An M.I.T. trained scientist explains the ONE secret you need to know to lose weight and keep it off.
Raymond Francis is the scientist people turn to when diets don’t work. His groundbreaking approach treats excess weight for what it really is-a disease caused by malfunctioning cells.
As Francis explains, many of the foods we eat every day, especially the “health” and “diet” ones, have the opposite effect. Full of hidden toxins and lacking nutrients they actually poison our cells and alter our weight control genes, causing our bodies to put on the pounds.
His simple, scientifically supported plan will have you looking and feeling better then you have in years-in just 6 weeks!
Raymond Francis is the author of Never Be Sick Again (listen to his interview here). He is a chemist, the national chairman of The Project to End Disease, the publisher of Beyond Health news, and host of the talk radio show The Beyond Health Show. How to Look Good Naked…

I am so enthralled with Carson Kreesley because he is totally alignement with what I always say a woman needs to love herself for who she is and to express herself and go out into the world proud of you, no matter what.
What I want the most is to be able to meet Carson to be able to talk to someone who thinks just like me! To have him help me keep learning how to love me for me!
Women are wonderful creatures, we sacrifice daily for our loved ones…we don’t always take time for ourselves hence we tend to get sick (Raising my hand here), we tend to be the most critical of ourselves…me again…and WE TEND to not see what others see…we lack self confidence.
I know I do…self confidence can sometimes be a hard word to swallow…a hard thing to portray, a hard thing to remember.
I have done many things that I never thought I would. I started a podcast, I love talking, I love helping others it has been my desire since I started online 5 years to be a help to others, to share what I have been through to be able to give happiness and confidence and healing to others…it wasn’t easy and I second guess myself a lot.
I talk all the time about women needing to love themselves but I too have my days that I feel ugly, unloved, fat, unattractive.
Trust me, my confidence in that department is not good…lol…too many surgeries have left me scared and my belly UGLY!Unless I had plastic surgery (NO WAY) to reconstruct my stomach area that area will never be the same.
There are many times I want to hide from my own hubby because I hate my stomach area. I have a scar from my navel to my pelvic area then across my lower pelvic area….it sags…its nasty and to me looks like a mountain range with valleys uggg lol sorry for the picture lol…. I don’t like the way I look in lingerie or normal underwear.
So you see, I know what it is like to not love who I am…I go through this daily. When I was a teenager I was aneroxic and bulmic…though some days I still second guess myself.
I love that lifetime and Carson will be doing a show on this topic, all women need to know they are beautiful! And to start remembering that they are beautiful when they look in the mirror and start to second guess themselves.
I think we all need to unite together and pull together and learn to love ourselves for who we are, even those of us who know we should love ourselves for who we are…we still second guess ourselves.
Carson and Lifetime will do just that hooray!

Have you been struggling to lose weight? Have you tried diet, exercise, and even weight loss pills, but nothing seems to be doing the trick? The trouble may not be with the things you’re doing while you’re awake, but rather the simple fact that you are awake. Studies have shown that getting more sleep and better quality sleep can help you shed pounds without expensive fad diets. So if you really want to get rid of those excess pounds once and for all, why not spend less time counting calories and more time in bed?
The first reason that sleeping more causes you to lose less weight is probably the most obvious. The more hours you spend sleeping, the fewer hours you have to eat. We all have cravings for certain foods that aren’t good for us, and the longer we’re awake, the longer we have to fight those cravings. Plus, sleep deprivation reduces deductive reasoning skills, so we have less will power to resist.
Getting a good night’s rest makes you feel energized and awake the next day. If you sleep well the night before, you’re more likely to be able to get up and go work out. Sufficient sleep can give you the energy to work out harder and for longer periods of time, further fueling your weight loss efforts.
We used to believe that you we hungry when your stomach was empty and full when your stomach had no room left, but we know better than that now. We now know more about hormones and other chemicals in the body and how they affect hunger. One of these chemicals is cortisol. Excess cortisol not only causes us to feel hungry when we’ve had enough to eat; it can also affect the amount of fat we store. On top of this, cortisol decreases memory retention along with other stress inducing side effects. Getting sufficient sleep helps return the cortisol balance to normal.
Two other chemicals that have recently been shown to be affected by the amount of sleep your get are the hormones leptin, which makes you feel hungry, and ghrelin, which makes you feel full. Reduced amounts of sleep can reduce ghrelin levels and increase leptin levels, causing you to feel you need to eat more when you’ve actually had enough.
Another side effect of sleep deprivation is a change in the way the body metabolizes carbohydrates. Most individuals have problems fully digesting carbs without sufficient sleep. This means that instead of being burned for energy; these calories are being stored as fat. Plus, excess carbs in your system can cause a rise in blood sugar levels, along with insulin resistance; these are both symptoms of type II diabetes.
And if all these reasons aren’t good enough for you, lack of sleep also drops the level of human growth hormone in your system. While HGH helps children grow bigger, it affects the percentage of fat in proportion to muscle in adults. Decreased levels of this hormone send even more of the food you eat to be stored as fat reserves, further hindering your weight loss.
So if you’re really serious about losing weight, make it a goal to get a full night’s sleep every night. You’ll likely start seeing those pounds fly off in no time.

You may have heard claims of B12 shots producing significant weight loss in no time. You also may have heard scientists say that there’s no proof B12 helps you lose weight (but it has been proven to keep you from gaining it). So what’s the truth? What is B12 and does it really help you lose weight?
B12 is a nutrient we naturally get in our diets. It is vital for out body to function normally. A B12 deficiency can have serious effects on your body. Would you make a cake a purposely leave out the flour, sugar, or baking soda? Of course not. When you leave an important ingredient out, the cake just doesn’t work right. Your body is the same way. If you’re lacking an important nutrient like B12, your body just doesn’t work right. By adding this vital nutrient to your system, you’re letting your body operate more effectively and efficiently. This improves your overall health and helps you lose weight.
B12 gives you a great energy boost. While this may not take off the pounds in itself, it can get you up and moving. Many people don’t exercise because they’re just too tired at the end of a long day. With this extra energy, you can go to the gym or even just take a walk around the block. Plus, if you find your energy level dragging between shots, you can get more B12 in your diet to keep yourself going.
B12 boosts your metabolism. This means that you digest your food faster and burn more calories just by sitting there. And the more calories you burn, the fewer calories you store as fat. Plus, if you increase your exercise level, you’ll boost your metabolism even more!
If you’ve looked into B12 shots, you’ve probably noticed they’re a bit pricey; usually about $65 a piece. As I mentioned earlier, we all have B12 in our system that come from the food we eat. While getting shots may be a bit more potent, you can get more B12 into your system by adding it into your diet. Don’t try pills, they don’t work as well. Just eat more foods that are rich in B12. Some suggestions for food high in B12 include: clams, liver, trout, and salmon. You can also find foods, such as breakfast cereal that have been fortified with B12 and other vitamins and minerals.
There are many arguments for and against B12. There are scientists who will claim that there’s no proof of its effectiveness, but what about the thousands of people who say they’ve lost weight? The key to losing weight is that there’s no magical shot or pill, you have to work at it. However, combined with diet and exercise, B12 could be the boost your system needs to finally take those extra pounds off.

While doing some posting on a few forums that I am a member of, I was reading posts about people trying to lose weight and some of the ladies who were saying they still needed to lose 10-20 pounds look so skinny right now they look like skeletons!
So why is
I was watching The Devil Loves Prada the other night and was so upset when they told the secretary that she was a pig at a size 4! I couldn’t imagine being in a size 4, let alone being told I needed to lose weight to be in a size 0 in order to look good! Come on!
Why are we so obsessed?
Why can’t we love ourselves for ourselves?
I too am doing a “healthy living lifestyle” change…I have found for myself if I focus on losing weight I want to eat more items that are bad for me. I refuse to tell myself I am losing weight…I don’t need to lose weight I just need to become healthier and tone up, sure there may be a few pounds I could lose BUT that should not be the main focus, becoming healthy should be.
What I have been doing, as it works for me, is eating more raw fruits and vegetables. I have a salad already made up during the day. Since this is already made up I don’t have to stand there at the fridge with the door open and wonder what I am going to eat. Working from home and being a mom you know how hard it is to eat healthy or even remember to eat, so having snacks that are already prepared and healthy will help you during those busy times when you feel you do not have time to cook.
I added more water to my diet, when I get hungry and its not meal or snack time I reach for the water. Did you know that when you are thirsty your body can give you signals that are the same as hunger pains? Try drinking water first to see if that curbs your hunger pains if it doesn’t then you are hungry.
Another thing I have been doing is finding DVD’s that I enjoy some of you may laugh at the one I do that I just find so much fun to do and the time just melts away (no pun intended lol) I bought Carmen Electra’s Strip Tease aerobics…I know but you know what it is so much fun! I also vary it with Turbo Jam and Yoga Booty Ballet all of them are fun and have great music that keeps me going.
Cutting out the real sugars I can’t do as far as using items like Splenda etc because I don’t feel they are safe, so I just cut down on how much real sugar I use in my coffee which I have also cut back from 2 pots, yep 2 pots a day, to 2 cups a day which is a feat in and of itself for me a coffee addict.
Everyone says to stop eating when you are not hungry, that’s simple if you have the will power or are not using food to deal with other issues. Being an emotional overeater I find this task hardest to stop. For a while I was eating and didn’t realize I was, my son pointed out to me one day when he asked me why I was so hungry today. I looked at him and said “What do you mean?” he said “Mom, you have been eating all day long.” Whoa! I didn’t realize I had been, I was worrying about a project and just started nibbling while I was trying to work the problem out in my head.
I was anorexic and bulimic once and I know all about eating and emotional disorders. If you look at food as either the enemy or a comfort food you need to see your doctor about those issues so you can get those resolved before you start any diet…trust me I have been on both sides: so skinny I looked like I was dying, I was…and being overweight it was affecting my entire health and mental well being and for me both sides I was dealing with emotional problems and the only way I felt in control was with food.
Good luck to those who are trying to lose weight, for me this year my goal is healthy living! I did this once 10 years ago, just watched what I ate and exercised 5 days out of 7 and lost 30 pounds while hubby was in
You need to be at a healthy weight and not a skinny minny…who needs to look like a model or those ladies on tv who everyone loves and wants to be like.
If you are happy with the way you look or know your goal weight so you can feel better is to only lose 10 pounds then go for the 10 pounds and not the 20 pounds to fit societies image…sorry this is a hot topic for me, I have two nieces right now that are so thin they would blow away if the wind picks up and they are starving themselves because they want to look like the stars or sports people they know when I look at them all I see is what I did to myself and my body and how many of my health issue right now stem from not loving myself for me.
So what if you weigh 145 are you in good shape? Do you love what you see? If not you need to explore whether it is really for health reasons or emotional reasons why you want to lose weight…
