Success story: How to live the life your soul intended Therèse Tappouni –

In Tappouni’s new book, “The Promise: Revealing the Purpose of Your Soul,” she is unhappy after the end of her 36-year marriage and the death of her son, but she uses tragedy to turn her life around and discovers that true fulfillment is not found by attaining wealth or possessions, but by discovering and fulfilling your life’s purpose. “The Promise” describes how each person, before they are even born, makes a commitment or promise to themselves that they will do their best to fulfill their individual destiny in life.  It is only by discovering this purpose that we can ever truly live our lives to the fullest.

About Therese Tappouni

Therèse has combined wisdom and insight to create a spiritual path for her life and work. She is a Time Dimension Therapist, Somatic Intuitive Practitioner, and Hypnotherapist. However, she creates her life’s work most typically through the written word and workshops. Her latest book is the novel A Time to Reap, the story of three generations of women finding the inner source of their strength through tragedy and blessings. Her previous books are Lot’s Wife; Walking Your Walk: A Woman’s Guide to a Spirit Filled Life; and Night Gardening: Passionate Poems for the Beloved with her partner, Lance Ware. She has written a novel for young people titled Escape from Iraq and is currently at work on a major non-fiction work called The Promise.

She has been published in many literary publications and anthologies, including the Grammy-nominated Grow Old Along With Me: The Best is Yet to Be, where her work was read by Alfre Woodard; and she was featured in Through a Child’s Eyes: Poems and Stories about War.

Therèse leads workshops for women based on Walking Your Walk, and also co-conducts workshops for couples and singles focusing on relationship as well as writing workshops with her partner. She teaches the importance of the Sacred Feminine, and ways in which women can focus on spiritual growth in work and relationship while nurturing the feminine. She also teaches workshops to professional women on recovering the passion that led them into their work or relationships, and discovering the energy of life passages such as menopause.

She has served on many boards and committees, including The YMCA Writer’s Voice, The School Community Council of Teacher Corps, the local chapter of the Institute of Noetic Sciences and The Chopra Foundation. She is a member of the International Women’s Writer’s Guild and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. She lives and thrives in Indian Shores, Florida and the San Diego area in California.

  1. Hello,
I enjoyed the show very much!

I am curious… when you are having your totally nude massage - do you have a towel over you or are you all out there for the universe to gaze at? That would be an awful big step to take - I tip my hat to you! ;)

i am just now learning that I can listen to my inner guide and know that it is OK… I still get anxiety about it because I have been doing a tremendous amount of stretching outside my comfort zone and afterwards I start questioning myself about it.

I’m so thankful for people like you that are coming forward and doing the work they need to do in order to help others heal and move forward.

    Sincerely,
    Delores Chappel

  2. Thank you so much for this fantastic episode! I really appreciated hearing Therese’s story – it was very inspiring and I am really looking forward to reading her book.

Also, I wanted to mention how much I appreciated Rebekah’s comments about growing up Baptist and always feeling like something wasn’t quite right in the practice of that one specific religion and that now you kind of take pieces of many different religions – the pieces that “feel right” – and practice more spirituality than religion. I have gone through an almost identical situation with religion and spirituality, but most people have a hard time understanding how I can be spiritual without identifying with any one religion or how I can still be a “Christian” if I also incorporate pieces of other religions such as Wicca, Buddhism, Muslim, Taoism, etc. I’ve never heard anyone else discuss this issue before, and I cannot even begin to describe how much of a relief it is to know that I’m not alone in my beliefs and that there ARE other people out there who “get it.”

Thanks once again for this amazing episode, and I will most certainly be doing another plug for “Heal Yourself Talk Radio” on my podcast this week!
