So, how old is your untrained child?
Feb 26th, 2008 | By Jenn | Category: Articles, Autism, Jenn BrockmanMine is 6 and still is not using the bathroom on her own all the time. It really is much better than it was but it took going to school almost all year long before she even got this far! You see, my child is autistic, or so we think.
There could be some other issues stacked on top of it, or with it. If you aren’t familiar with Autism, then you need to read up. It is becoming so very predominant here in America. No matter what you may or may not think about the diagnosis, the behavior is a real issue for many people all over the world.
As a parent of a child with special behaviors, are you embarrassed to tell people that your 6 year old doesn’t even “get it” about going to the bathroom on her own? I am sometimes. For that reason alone, it’s easier to have a label. I hate labels though! Labels can confine a person and limit them to what another understands of that label alone. So many minds are closed when it comes to another person’s behavior and that is so sad. There are always reasons, whether right or wrong, for that behavior but many people don’t care about the why and are quick to judge. I hope you are not this way. I hope that you can open your heart and mind to what these children go through, and in turn, what we parents go through.
Often I feel helpless in helping my child. She obviously sometimes cannot express her emotions or thoughts to me in a way that I can understand. She becomes frustrated and angry and so do I, but not at her. I only want to help but it is not easy to know how.
Do you have a child like mine? Continue to love them as that is all that matters in the end and sometimes all we can do.

Jenn, you have my compassion. Autistic kids are often highly gifted, but are wired differently and very vulnerable to being overwhelmed by stress. We did a pilot using some energy healing tools we’ve developed on a class of 5 year olds and their teacher. The hypothesis was to use our Life Energy Management process to massively de-stress the teacher so she didn’t radiate stress to her students at anywhere near the normal level. Then she used EFT with the kids to help them release the stress they were bringing from home to school. The results were amazing even to us. AND, one of these kids who had Asperger’s syndrome made major strides in just a few days. If you’d like, I’d be happy to email you our write-up on this pilot. You can reach me at murray@lifeenergycoaching.com.
The basic principle here is that we are all carrying around a baseline level of stress that we started building from childhood and which the Law of Attraction continues to magnify throughout our life. When we wipe out 90+% of this, life improves dramatically.

Jenn, my youngest just got totally potty trained last summer when he was 5 1/2 I was afraid he was going to not be able to go to school.
It was very hard to deal with everyone telling me how to help him, telling me what a bad mom I was because he wasn’t potty trained and hearing sarcastic remarks when they saw him still in diapers…
Adam just decided one day he was tired of diapers, thank goodness but he didn’t quite understand why he shouldn’t be in diapers…when she is ready she will in her own way let you know.
