“Widows Wear Stilettos: A Practical and Emotional Guide for the Young Widow”

Carole Brody Fleet will be on talking about her soon to be released book “Widows Wear Stilettos: A Practical and Emotional Guide for the Young Widow”. Ms. Fleet has been on Good Morning America recently watch her interview here http://abcnews..go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=5281729

If you have lost a husband this show is full of tips, hope and compassion.  I was impressed with Carole Brody Fleet from the time I was introduced to her a month ago through email.  Not because of what happened to her, but because she is one of those people who overcame a tragedy and is now helping others who are living through the death of a spouse.  Carole is one of those wholesome spirits in this world that are hard to find.  While she talks about certain topics with a humourous take on the whole situation you cannot help but admire this woman.  On December 19, 2000 she lost her husband to Lou Gehrig’s disease.  Her life was turned upside down! Yet through it all she kept her sense of humour when dealing with the dating scene later on in her life, with raising her daughter, and with how people talked to her as well for being a widow.

I have not had the priviledge to read her book yet as it is not yet out for sale, but you can pre-order it at any major bookstore…but I do know that her book has got to be an inspiration to many women who are faced with the difficult loss of a spouse, as Carole in today’s interview talks about…the “well meaning” words people say, making decisions after the death of a spouse, taking care of yourself, and you deciding when your own grieving process is done and when you are ready to move on and heal.

Carole Brody Fleet will be back on HYTR on Thursday August 7th, 2008 to talk more about her new book “Widows Wear Stilettos”.  If you are a widow or know someone who is please let them know about Carole’s book and her website that includes forums where you can go and meet other women and talk about what you are facing in your day to day life.  You can sign up at http://www.widowswearstilettos.com.

Thank you Carol for being who you are, and for sharing your life with so many other women and letting them know that there are tools for helping them during this most difficult time in their lives.
